Dental Emergency Questions
Common dental emergencies include severe or persistent tooth pain, a knocked-out or broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, facial swelling, or an injury to the mouth or teeth.
Handle the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently without scrubbing, and try to keep it moist (in milk, saliva, or a tooth-preservation product) while you call our office right away.
Facial swelling that affects breathing or swallowing can be a medical emergency. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
